Family

Whew, this {creative} blog of mine is covered in internet dust. About time for a post.

I haven't felt creative lately. I think I used all of my creativity up when I was pregnant and bored. Once the weather started to get warmer outside...and I had a baby to cuddle with, I decided to put the knitting needles down for a bit. Now that said baby is older (11 weeks tomorrow!), he goes down for bed at 8pm and I have the evening to myself. I miss being creative with my time, so I might just start on a project. Heaven knows, my Pinterest boards are bursting with ideas. Maybe I'll find something to wet my creative appetite and give my etsy shop a boost of energy.

I can't say that I've taken a complete hiatus from all things creative. A couple of weeks ago, I created this print on PicMonkey (my new favorite photo editing website). It has all of our names intertwined, along with important dates that have helped to make this family what it is today: '83, the birth year of both my husband and I. '06, the year we got married and '08 &'12 the years my precious boys were born. I'll probably still play around with the style/fonts and such, but for now I like it.

My newest project

I came across some fun patterns for baby bibs just recently. SO CUTE! I've only made 1 of the 4 bibs and I think it turned out darling...of course I wanted to do the owl first. ;) I can't wait to see how the other ones turn out (I'm currently working on a boy bib; a little robot). :D

My current "dream" project.

Nothing quite inspires me like a good picture. If I had the time and the patience (and let's face it a bit of talent), I would so try my hand(s) at making this blanket...isn't it whimsically cute!? But alas, it's only a dream project. Maybe I'll give it a try when I'm old and gray...maybe.

little darling mittens.

I finally finished my little darling mittens. I had to accessorize them (they have to have a creative edge to them, or they're just going to come across as average ho-hum mittens). These were made with a boy in mind. I'm currently working on pink mittens with flowers...should be cute! :)

Recycling with style. Back to crochet.

I found myself bored out of my mind last night. The baby was in bed and my husband was working on a project. That left me with no one to play with...lol. I found myself sorting though hundreds (seriously!) of plastic grocery bags. What the heck, I thought to myself. How did we get so many bags?! I really need to take these in and recycle them. I then remembered seeing this on one of my favorite crafting sites! Love, love, love that site!!!

So, this is what happens when I'm bored:

I made it big enough to carry my credit card and cash as well as lipgloss. Perfect for festival season! :) Since it's crocheted there are plenty of loops to attach a keychain clip if I decide to clip it to my belt loop instead of carrying it on my wrist. So fun!
